SELECTIVE LASER TRABECULOPLASTY (SLT)

SLT laser is done in patients with primary open angle glaucoma. This is an in-office procedure that usually takes a few minutes. One eye is performed on a given day. The laser helps to open up the filtering system of the eye, the trabecular meshwork, thereby lowering eye pressure.

There are no restrictions in the days after the procedure. It is normal to feel teary, foreign body sensation, or irritated. However, if you are having pain make sure to call and inform your doctor.
